Educated from the Norwegian College of Dance in Oslo, BA in modern and contemporary dance.
Mari was born in Tromsø 12.06.1989 and started dancing at Tromsø Danseteater. She continued with dance at Tromsø Kulturskole and Kongsbakken Videregående skole in 2005.
Mari has been active in Tromsøs cultural life, getting the award Norsk Musikkråds Entusiastprisen in 2007 for her work with outdoors event "FRYS!" in Tromsø from 2005-2008. She also initiated the street art project "Bit" that was held in Tromsø in 2010. Both "FRYS!" and "Bit" were funded by Aktiv Ungdom, EUs youth programme for non formal learning.
After finishing high school she attended a year at Bårdar Akademiet and then continued to take a bachelor in dance and pedagogy at the Norwegian College of dance.
In the autumn of 2012 Mari moved back to Tromsø, and is now working freelance as a dancer and choreographer in the norhern part of Norway.
Mari is also working as a marketing assistant for Tromsø International Film Festival (TIFF), and is newly elected leader for the noth-norwegian dance association Forum for nordnorske dansekunstnere. She is also working for Programrådet by RadArt, programming the festival "Vårscenefest". Mari has also worked with Den Kulturelle Skolesekken, holding workshops in dance for children in grade school.
The 19.th and 20.th of May 2013 saw the premiere of the performance "Tungt" at Rådstua Teaterhus in Tromsø. This was Maris first professional performance and her debut as a dancer and choreographer. "Tungt" went on a tour in the northern Norway in january and february 2014, playing amongst other places at the Northern Lights Festival in Tromsø. In the autumn of 2014 "Tungt" can be seen in northern Russia, a tour co-produced by Dansearena nord.
